BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 95-69 to LeTourneau University Thursday evening in the Brownwood Coliseum.
Howard Payne shot just 29.7% (22 of 74) from the field in the game while LeTourneau connected in 35 of 70 shots for 50.0%.
HPU lead the game in second chance points (15-8) and fast break points (15-2).
Down 47-27 at the break, HPU did get to the free-throw line in the second half shooting 13 (19 of 31) more attempts than LeTourneau (11 of 18) in the game.
Jerren Godfrey led HPU with 14 points followed by
Myles Brown with 10 points.
Fredrick Watts finished with nine points and 11 rebounds.
LETU was led by Andrew Eberhardt with 33 points and 12 rebounds.
Howard Payne is now 4-13 overall and 3-9 in American Southwest Conference action. LeTourneau stands at 13-3 overall and 8-2 in league play. The Jackets will play next at home on Saturday at 3:00 pm versus the University of Texas at Dallas.
