CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas - The Howard Payne University women's basketball team fell 80-57 to the University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon in conference action.
Howard Payne was led by 
Catlyn Ward with her third 16 point performance of the season. 
Bria Neal followed with nine points and a team high seven rebounds for the Lady Jackets.
The Lady Jackets trailed by just two, 23-21, at the end of the first quarter but would be outscored in each of the next three periods in the 80-57 final.
HPU shot just 30.5% from the field, 24.1% from behind the arc in the game. The Lady Jackets did outshoot the Eagles at the free-throw line, 73.7% (14 of 19) to 58.8% (10 of 17). Ozarks finished the game shooting 42.9% from the field. Ozarks aso outrebounded HPU 54-35 in the game.
HPU's 
Salina Ali finished with eight points and four assists. Trinity Greenwell added 10 points off the bench for the Lady Jackets.
Howard Payne is now 4-17 overall and 2-12 in American Southwest Conference play. Ozarks stands at 7-9 overall and 4-7 in league action. The Lady Jackets will be back at home next week on Thursday versus East Texas Baptist at 5:30 pm and on Saturday at 1:00 pm versus Belhaven University.
