BROWNWOOD, Texas- The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets took down the Hardin-Simmons University Cowboys for the second time in school history! HPU's 1-0 victory is the first win over Hardin-Simmons University since 2010!
 
They Yellow Jackets were able to score a goal in the first half, making the score 1-0 at halftime. The goal was scored by Daniel Hernandez in the 30^th minute of the game. For the second half, HPU's tough defense held Hardin-Simmons to zero for the remainder of the game.
 
Howard Payne took eight total shots on the game. Daniel Hernandez led in shot attempts with 2 total shots, both on goal. In goal all 90 minutes for the Yellow Jackets, Eduardo Flores recorded a total of nine saves.

The Yellow Jackets are now 5-6-2 on the season and 2-3 in conference play. The Yellow Jackets will play again this Saturday, Oct. 13^th at 3:30 pm. Senior day will also be taking place as they take on McMurry University!
