BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 76-63 to Southwestern University in the Yellow Jackets home opener Tuesday evening in the Brownwood Coliseum.
Down 37-25 at the half, the Yellow Jackets were able to pull within two 43-41 with 13:45 left in the second half. From that point, Southwestern would use 50% shooting in the second half to secure the game 76-63.

Harold Myart led all scorers with 14 points on 5 of 7 shooting along with five rebounds and four steals.
Tyler Poag followed with 12 points, he was 4 for 4 from the field and 3 for 3 from the line.
Southwestern had five players in double-digits led by Preston Hannah with 13 points and Chris Smith with 12 points. Smith also grabbed 12 rebounds.
Howard Payne is now 1-1 overall and Southwestern stands at 1-1 on the year. The Yellow Jackets will play next on Friday at home versus the University of Dallas at 5:30 pm.
