RICHARDSON, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 73-57 at the University of Texas at Dallas Thursday evening at the UTD Activity Center.
Howard Payne was led by
Harold Myart with 14 points followed by
Miles Koehler with 12, and
Jerren Godfrey with 11 points.
Myles Brown added seven rebounds, six assists and three steals for the Jackets.
Despite three Yellow Jackets in double-digit scoring in the game, UT Dallas outscored Howard Payne by 13 points in the second half after leading 27-24 at the halftime break.
Five minutes into the second half, the Jackets would lead by one, 33-32 but a 12-2 run by the Comets would give UTD lead the throughout the remainder of the game to the 73-57 final.
UT Dallas was led by Kyle Poerschke with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Howard Payne is now 2-4 overall and 0-1 in American Southwest Conference play. UT Dallas stands at 5-2 overall and 2-0 in league action. The Jackets will travel to Clarksville, AR on Saturday to take on the University of the Ozarks at 3:00 pm on Saturday.
