Box Score CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas – The Howard Payne University women's basketball team dropped a close game to University of the Ozarks 72-67 in overtime. HPU's
Bria Neal also reached her 1,000 points in today's game.
HPU's senior guard,
Bria Neal, reached her career milestone of 1,003 points after today's match. Ending the 2021-22 season with 880 points total, Neal passed this milestone just three weeks into the 2022-23 season.
Lady Jackets'
Trynadee Greenwell led the team with 20 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. She was followed by
Bria Neal with 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Asia Mitchell added ten points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Down 25-22 at the half, the Lady Jackets battled the Eagles to end the game 57-57, sending them into overtime. With a close game in overtime, the Eagles were able to pull out the win 72-67.
The Lady Jackets out rebounded the Eagles 55-30, also holding the Eagles to just 18% in 3-point shooting percentage.
Howard Payne is now 2-6 overall and University of the Ozarks now stands at 4-4 on the season. The Lady Jackets will compete again on Thursday, Dec. 8
th, at home in the Coliseum. They will tip off at 5:30 pm versus Hardin-Simmons University!
