BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team opened its spring season with a 9-0 non-conference loss to Schreiner University Saturday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

Down a coupe of players, the HPU Lady Jackets started the day by dropping the doubles matches 8-3, 8-4, and loss by default. The HPU number two doubles team of Trinity Johnson and Lillian Jonescue were the most competitive falling 8-4.

In singles action the Lady Jackets fielded five singles matches and dropped the number six spot by default.

The Lady Jackets will play next on Friday, Feb. 18th at 3:00 pm versus the University of the Southwest. Match will be played at HPU's Nabers Tennis Center.
