SEGUIN, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team claimed a 5-4 non-conference victory at Texas Lutheran University this Friday.

The Yellow Jackets started the day by taking two of the three doubles points. The number one doubles team of  Logan Knight and Nicolas Gates won 8-1, and the number two doubles team of  Hunter Green and Michael Woodard won 8-4.

Howard Payne took the number one, three, and five singles points to secure the 5-4 team victory. The Jackets narrowly lost in number two singles in three sets (3-6, 7-5, 6-10) and in number four singles 5-7, 3-6.

Logan Knight won 6-3, 6-1 in number one singles, Christian Fernandez won 6-0, 6-2 in number three singles, and Landon Ferree won 6-4, 6-0 in number five singles.

The Yellow Jackets will play next on March 3rd at homes versus the University of St. Thomas.
