SEGUIN, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Texas Lutheran University in non-conference action on Friday.

Playing the match down one player, the Lady Jackets dropped two doubles points 8-4 and 8-4, and the number three doubles by default.

Number four singles player, Trinity Johnson picked up the only point for the Lady Jackets 6-0, 6-3. 

HPU's Mikayla Hernandez was also narrowly lost in number three singles play, a three set match, 6-4, 4-6, 5-10. The Lady Jackets lost the other singles points in straight sets and the number six singles point by default.

The Lady Jackets will play next on March 3rd at homes versus the University of St. Thomas.
