BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University softball team faced off against Texas A&M - San Antonio in a 4-0 decision Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at Lady Jacket Field.

Despite playing error free ball, the Lady Jackets were outhit by the Jaguars 8-5. Howard Payne would strand five runners in the game.

Five different Lady Jackets recorded hits. HPU's Patricia Davilla had the game's only triple.

HPU's Heather Wineman had the loss in the start for the Lady Jackets allowing four runs on eight hits.

Game two of the scheduled double-header was canceled due to lightning in the area.

Howard Payne will play next at home the Thursday and Friday versus UT Dallas. It will be a double-header on Thursday starting at 1:00 pm and a single on Friday at 12:00 noon.
