SEGUIN, Texas- In its first game of the season, the Howard Payne University men's soccer team lost 1-0 to Texas Lutheran University Thursday evening.
 
The Yellow Jackets were able told hold off the Bulldogs until the 52^nd minute of the match, where the Bulldogs scored off of a penalty kick. Eduardo Flores played all 90 minutes as goal keeper for Howard Payne, recording six saves.
 
Alexander Paz and Daniel Hernandez both had two shots for HPU. Mikel Santamaria also had two shots with one shot on goal, but in the end the Yellow Jackets were not able to get on the board.
 
The Yellow Jackets are now 0-1 on the season and will take on Jarvis Christian College on Saturday, Sept. 3^rd in Hawkins, Texas, at 3:30 PM.
