BROWNWOOD, Texas- This Saturday afternoon, the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets beat the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies 2-0!
 
During the first half of the game, the score remained 0-0. To start off the second half, Hannah Noel scored a goal in the 58^th minute on a pass from Brenna Douthit. HPU's second goal was a header scored by Carrie Gerdes in the 82^nd minute of the game. She was assisted by Marisah Mata. The Lady Jackets' defense kept the Aggies at zero, ending the game at 2-0.
 
HPU took a total of 25 shots with 15 on goal. The Aggies went seven for seven in total shots, to shots on goal. Of the 15 shots on goal, Hannah Noel and Carrie Gerdes both had three, and Marisah Mata and Katie Burnside had two shots each. Kendra Cecil, Regan Noel, Ella Alvarado, Brooke Scott, and Karlee Friebele, each took one shot on goal.
 
Emily Williamson was in goal for 83 minutes of the game with six saves. For the remaining seven minutes, Stephanie Sanders was in goal with one save.
 
The Lady Jackets are now 4-1-1 on the season. Watch them in their next game against Hardin-Simmons University on Thursday, Sept. 22^nd. They will compete at 7:00 pm in Abilene, Texas!
