BROWNWOOD, Texas- The Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets win their first conference match of the season 2-1 against the University of the Ozarks!

The Lady Jackets start off the first half by allowing a goal from the Eagles in the 12
th minute of the game. This left the score 1-0 at halftime. Picking it back up quickly, HPU's
Katie Burnside scored a goal off of a header, with an assist from
Kendra Cecil in the 51
st minute. Keeping the score tied for most of the game, the Lady Jackets'
Karlee Friebele scored a goal to put them ahead in the 86
th minute, off of a pass from
Hannah Noel.

Howard Payne took a total of 17 shots in the game, while only allowing the Eagles to take two shots.
Ella Alvarado and
Karlee Friebele each took three shots with one on goal, and
Katie Burnside followed with two total shots, both on goal.
Emily Williamson was HPU's goalkeeper for all 90 minutes.

The Lady Jackets are now 5-3-1 on the season an 1-0 in conference play. The Lady Jackets will take on UT Dallas this Saturday, Oct. 1
st. They will play at home on Citizens National Bank Field at 2:00 pm!
