BROWNWOOD, Texas- The Lady Jackets get their first win of the season with a score of 2-1 against Texas Lutheran University!
 
HPU's Marisah Mata, scored the first goal of the game during the 16^th minute.  She was assisted by Hannah Noel. For HPU's second goal, it was shot by Shaylea Bolton in the 43^rd minute and assisted by Carrie Gerdes. The Lady Jackets started off strong holding the Bulldogs to zero, making the score 2-0 at half time.
 
Texas Lutheran scored a goal in the second half during the 53^rd minute. The Lady Jackets continued to play hard on both sides of the field, finishing off the game with a win.
 
The Lady Jackets had ten shots on goal while the Bulldogs had four shots on goal. HPU's shots on goal were taken by Brenna Douthit with three, Hannah Noel with two, Marisah Mata, Kendra Cecil, Ella Alvarado, Brooke Scott, and Shaylea Bolton each with one.
 
Howard Payne's goal was split by Emily Williamson in goal for the first half and Stephanie Sanders in goal for the second half. HPU's goalies saved three out of four of the shots taken on goal by TLU. Stephanie Sanders with two saves and Emily Williamson with one.
 
The Lady Jackets are now 1-1 on the season and will be back in action at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6^th, versus Austin College in Sherman, Texas!
