Jerren Godfrey scored a career best off the bench in a 125-96 Yellow Jacket loss at Hardin-Simmons University Saturday afternoon in conference action.

Jerren Godfrey recorded a career high 23 points off the bench for the Yellow Jackets. Godfrey was 7 of 12 from the field, 4 of 6 from behind the arc, and 5 of 7 at the free-throw line.Â
Armonie Ramey followed Godfrey with 19 points.
Deven Bailey finished with 12 points.
Miles Koehler had 11 points and four assists.
Steven Buhl led on the boards with eight rebounds and
Deshon Shorter and
Harold Myart added seven rebounds each.
The Jackets hit 34 of 71 (47.9%) shots, 8 of 15 (53.3%) from behind the arc. The Cowboys finished the game shooting 57.9% from the field, 55.0% from behind the arc.Â
Despite Howard Payne scoring 58 second half points, it was the Jackets committing 18 turnovers in the game while forcing just seven Cowboy turnovers that played a factor in the outcome.
HSU was led by Jamison Bosch with 23 points followed by Austin Brewer with 18 points.
Howard Payne is now 3-17 overall and 1-12 in American Southwest Conference action. Hardin-Simmons stands at 13-6 overall and 8-4 in league play. The Jackets will play next at home on Thursday versus Concordia University Texas at 7:30 pm.
