BROWNWOOD, Texas -- The Howard Payne University men's soccer team fell 3-1 at home to Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday (Oct. 5) at Citizens National Bank Field.
Howard Payne fell to 1-9-0 overall and 0-3-0 in ASC action after the defeat.
How it Happened
Mary Hardin-Baylor grabbed a 1-0 lead when Alex Bethke scored in the 25th minute, assisted by Sawyer Young.
The Crusaders took a 2-0 lead on a goal from Mason Munoz in the 36th minute, assisted by Xjavier Martinez.
Howard Payne got on the scoreboard to make it a 2-1 game on Taylor Hefner's 85th-minute goal, his second of the season. Cristopher Castellanos assisted the goal.
The Crusaders grabbed a 3-1 lead with an 87th-minute goal from Ethan Buchanan. The score finished the 3-1 match.
