BROWNWOOD, Texas -- The Howard Payne University women's soccer team lost to Mary Hardin-Baylor 1-0 Thursday (Oct. 5) at home at Citizens National Bank Field.

The loss dropped Howard Payne's record to 5-5-1 overall and 1-1-1 in ASC play.

How it Happened

Howard Payne kept Mary Hardin-Baylor scoreless in the first half before giving up the lone goal after the break in the loss. Emily Williamson led Howard Payne with 10 saves. The Lady Jackets registered three shots in the loss, two of them on goal. Howard Payne faced 20 Mary Hardin-Baylor shots, 11 of them on goal. A penalty kick in the 72nd minute would seal the game for UMHB. Hannah Noel and Brenna Douthit led the Lady Jackets in shots on goal with one a piece.

• Williamson totaled 10 saves for the Yellow Jackets out of 20 total Crusaders shots.
• Howard Payne put two shots on goal.

The Lady Jackets will be back at home Saturday, October 7th taking on Concordia University (TX) at 5:00 PM with the men's program following directly after.
