MARSHALL, Texas - Howard Payne University's Bria Neal scored a game-high 18 points for the Lady Jackets in a 74-49 lost to East Texas Baptist University Saturday afternoon.

HPU's Bria Neal led all scorers with 18 points. She was a perfect 8 of 8 from the free-throw line in the game.

Anna Beamesdefer followed with nine points and Asia Mitchell added eight points and a team-high six rebounds.

With single digit scoring in the first two quarters, the Lady Jackets trailed 31-17 at the halftime break.

Despite a 50% shooting fourth quarter for HPU, it would still be ETBU in the 74-49 final.

Howard Payne did have a solid outcome at the free-throw line finishing 16 of 17 for 94.1%.

East Texas Baptist was led by Kenidi White and Jade Goynes with 15 points each, Goynes also grabbed nine rebounds.

The Lady Jackets will finish out their season next Saturday on the road at Sul Ross State in Alpine, Texas. It will be a 1:00 pm start time.
