BROWNWOOD, Texas - Howard Payne University's Bria Neal lead the Lady Jackets in an 85-60 conference loss to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday afternoon at th e Brownwood Coliseum.

HPU's Bria Neal recorded her eighth double-double of the year with a 16 points and 12 rebounds. Brenna Welsh followed with 12 points off the bench for HPU. Catlyn Ward had 11 points and Trynadee Greenwell added 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Lady Jackets trailed 41-27 at the break but with a strong third quarter was able to stay within striking distance of the Cru. UMHB pulled away in the fourth outscoring the Lady Jackets 21-11 in the final quarter.

UMHB was led by Ashley Faux with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Arieona Rosborough followed with 15 points.

Howard Payne is now 2-19 overall and 0-14 in American Southwest Conference play. UMHB stands at 15-6 overall and 10-4 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next on Monday at home versus Concordia University at 5:30 pm.
