LONGVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 106-69 at LeTourneau University Thursday evening in conference play.
The HPU Yellow Jackets were led by
Jarod Johnson with 20 points and three steals.
Armonie Ramey added 14 points with 6 of 8 free-throw shooting along with a game-high five steals.
Steven Buhl followed with 11 points and team-high six rebounds.
With 38.8% shooting in the first half, Howard Payne trailed 57-35 at the break. The Yellow Jackets did up their shooting pct. in the second to 43% but would fall in the final 106-69.
LeTourneau was led by Caedmon Liebengood with 25 points off the bench and John Argue pulled down 10 rebounds.
Howard Payne is now 3-20 overall and 1-15 in American Southwest Conference play. LETU stands at 10-12 overall and 7-8 in league action. The Jackets will play next on Saturday at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. It will be a 3:00 pm start time.
