LONGVIEW, Texas - Howard Payne University's Anna Beamesdefer scored a season-high 20 points in a 77-69 loss at LeTourneau University Thursday evening in conference action.

HPU's Anna Beamesdefer was 8 of 16 from the field for a season-high 20 points along with three assists and two steals. Asia Mitchel followed with 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds and five assists. Brenna Welsh added 10 points and five assists off the bench. 

The Lady Jackets trailed 42-30 at the half but had a very strong fourth quarter. HPU outscored LETU 24-15 in the final quarter sparked by 5 of 9 three-point shooting.

Howard Payne forced 26 LeTourneau turnovers in the game but was outrebounded 44-37 on the night.

LeTourneau was led by Ajanae Thomas with 21 points and Haylee Jordan with 13 rebounds.

Howard Payne is now 2-21 overall and 0-16 in American Southwest Conference play. LETU stands at 7-15 overall and 3-12 in league action. The Lady Jackets will play next on Saturday at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. It will be a 1:00 pm start time.
