SHERMAN, Texas - The Howard Payne University softball team posted double-header header wins 10-2 (6) and 8-0 (5) at Austin College this Thursday in non-conference action.

Game One
In the 10-2 final, the Lady Jackets outhit the Roos 14-6 in the game while HPU pitcher Sydney West got the complete game victory allowing two runs on six hits and walking just one.

Alexia Perkkio, Makayla Wesley, Zoie Garcia each had three hits for HPU. Elaine Gonzales added two hits. Four different Lady Jackets recorded double in the game.

Game Two
Howard Payne would only need seven hits to put Austin College away 8-0 in five inning due to three fielding errors by the Roos.

Alexia Perkkio led HPU going 2-for-3 at the plate. Wesley recorded a homerun in the fifth inning to give the Lady Jackets an 8-0 lead.

Bree Cason got the win in the start for HPU allowing no runs on just three hits in 4.0 innings of work. Maddison Cason went the final frame allowing just two hits.

The Lady Jackets will travel to the University of the Ozarks this weekend for a conference series. Double-header will start on Friday at 2:00 pm and a single game on Saturday at 12:00 noon.
