BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University softball dropped its series finale 4-0 to Sul Ross State University Saturday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field.
Four Howard Payne fielding errors led to the 4-0 outcome for Sul Ross State. The Lady Jackets were limited to just four hits in the game.

Elaine Gonzalez, and
Madison Forrester had one hit each. Wesley's and Gonzalez' hits were doubles.
Bree Cason recorded the loss in the start for HPU allowing four runs on 10 hits and striking out three in the complete game.
Howard Payne is now 12-21 overall and 5-17 in American Southwest Conference action, Sul Ross stands at 10-16 on the year and 8-13 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next on the road at Concordia University Texas in Austin, a double header on Friday starting at 2:00 pm and a single on Saturday at 12:00 noon.
