BROWNWOOD, Texas -- The Howard Payne University women's soccer team fell 1-0 at home to Austin Thursday (Sept. 21) at Citizens National Bank Field.
The loss dropped Howard Payne's record to 3-4-0 overall.
How it Happened
After the Kangaroos took a 1-0 lead into the half, the Lady Jackets kept Austin off the scoreboard the rest of the way. Emily Williamson led Howard Payne with two saves. The Lady Jackets recorded 18 shots in the loss, six of them on goal. Kate Recendez and Brenna Douthit led the way for HPU totaling eight shots with two on goal with four other Lady Jackets registering shots on goal. Howard Payne faced six Austin shots, three of them on goal.
