CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas -- The Howard Payne University men's soccer team fell to Ozarks (AR) 2-1 Saturday (Sept. 30) on the road at Hurie Soccer Field.
Howard Payne fell to 1-8-0 overall and 0-2-0 in ASC play with the defeat.
How it Happened
Ozarks (AR) broke the 0-0 tie when Ernesto Frias scored in the 35th minute, assisted by Rasto Rimbo.
The Yellow Jackets evened the match on a goal from Emmanuel Nshimiyimana -- his fifth goal of the season -- in the 67th minute, assisted by Taylor Hefner.
Ozarks (AR) then went up 2-1 on Rimbo's 75th-minute goal. The score finished off the 2-1 game.
Emmanuel Nshimiyimana led HPU with three shots on goal followed by Ian Bryant with two.

- Brandon Padilla piled up five saves for the Yellow Jackets out of 14 total Eagles shots.

The Yellow Jackets will be back at home Thursday October 5th as they take on UMHB in a doubleheader with the women's program. The HPU men's soccer team will kick off at 7:30 PM looking to earn their first conference win.
