CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas -- The Howard Payne University women's soccer team fought back from a 1-0 deficit to knock off Ozarks (AR) 4-1 Saturday (Sept. 30) on the road at Hurie Soccer Field.
Howard Payne improved to 5-4-1 overall and 1-0-1 in ASC play with the win.
How it Happened
Ozarks (AR) started the scoring when Beth Markovich scored in the sixth minute, assisted by Halley Wheeler.
The Lady Jackets responded to tie the game on a goal from Hannah Noel in the 11th minute.
Howard Payne then grabbed a 2-1 lead on Noel's second goal of the game coming in the 61st-minute, her fourth of the season. Emily McClendon assisted the goal.
The Lady Jackets went ahead 3-1 with a 65th-minute goal from Kiana Chastain, her third goal of the season. Hannah Noel assisted the goal.
Howard Payne took a 4-1 advantage on Madelynn Harry's first goal of the season in the 76th minute. The match closed without another goal scored.

The Lady Jackets will be back at home Thursday, October 5th taking on UMHB with a kick off of 5:00 PM. This marks the first home double header between the men's and women's program for the 2023 season.
