RICHARDSON, Texas – The Howard Payne University women's basketball team fell 77-63 at the University of Texas at Dallas Saturday afternoon at the UT Dallas Activity Center.
Howard Payne was led by
Taysie Trejo with 15 points followed by
Anna Beamesderfer with a season-high 14 points.
The Lady Jackets led the majority of the first half gaining a five-point advantage 21-16 a minute into the second period. Down 37-33 at the half, HPU committed 33 turnovers in the game and fell 77-73.
Aja Holmes added 11 points to the Lady Jackets scoring with
Kyleigh Mauldin scoring eight and grabbing a game-high seven rebounds.
UT Dallas was led by Tyrstan Clark with 19 points and Alex Bowman and Taven Busby with 18 points each.
Howard Payne is now 6-12 overall and 2-8 in American Southwest Conference action. UT Dallas stands at 13-4 overall and 5-3 in league play. The Lady Jackets will play next on Thursday at home versus McMurry University at 5:30 pm in the Brownwood Coliseum.
