Last week, the Yellow Jackets were at home for a non-conference game versus Westgate Christian. Howard Payne racked up 449 yards of total offense and six rushing touchdowns in a 75-0 victory over Westgate.
Gus Charles accounted for 115 yards and two touchdowns on just three catches for the Yellow Jackets. Starting HPU QB
Zy Gravitt was 10 of 18 passing for 183 yards and three TDs. With
Derin Jackson and
Jacob Roberts also hauling in TD passing in the game, the Yellow Jackets recorded 260 passing yards of their 449 total yards in the game. With six tackles,
Jacob Urbina led the HPU defense that held Westgate to just 161 yards of total offense, 23 yards rushing. The Jacket defense forced three Raven fumbles and picked off one pass.

WEEK 5 RECAP
East Texas Baptist and
Mary Hardin-Baylor competed in their first conference contest this season in Belton. The Cru claimed a 42-28 win over the Tigers after an offensive surge late in the fourth quarter.
Hardin-Simmons hosted No. 9 Endicott, earning a 35-27 top 10 victory. The contest was tied 14-14 going into the half. The Cowboys used a pair of scores in the third to go ahead 27-14. Endicott tried to fight back in the final quarter, but a 34-yard pass from Kyle Brown to Dozie Ifeadi secured the eight-point win.
