Last week, the Yellow Jackets scored 22 points in the fourth quarter but fell 29-36 at Wittenberg.
Mateo Hernandez had five catches for 131 yards and one touchdown and
Gus Charles added nine grabs for 128 yards, both led the way in the pass-catching department for Howard Payne.
Ellis Myers also hauled in three passes for 70 yards and one touchdown.
This season, the Jackets' top target has been
Gus Charles with 21 catches for 435 yards (145 yds per game). As a team, Howard Payne is averaging 307.5 passing per game.
On the year,
Kale Shaw and
Jacob Korrodi lead the HPU defense with 32 and 29 tackles respectively. In the past two games, the Jacket defense has forced five interceptions.
