BROWNWOOD, Texas --The Howard Payne volleyball team lost to the LeTourneau Yellow Jackets in straight sets (15-25, 16-25, 23-25) Friday at home at Brownwood Coliseum.

The loss dropped Howard Payne's record to 7-5 overall and 0-3 in ASC play.

Tara Bennett finished with 11 kills on the day to lead the Yellow Jackets offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .258. got 9 digs from Bennett to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Yellow Jackets found themselves in an early hole, dropping a tough first set 25-15. Howard Payne trailed by as many as 10 points as LeTourneau grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up two times before the Yellow Jackets took control.

SET 2 | A 25-16 set-two loss put Howard Payne in a 2-0 hole in the match. Howard Payne trailed by as many as nine points as LeTourneau grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was tied up two times before the Yellow Jackets took over the lead.

SET 3 | LeTourneau finished off the sweep with a third-set victory. The Yellow Jackets lost the third set 25-23. Howard Payne trailed by as many as six points as LeTourneau grabbed the advantage for good at 14-13 in a set that was tied up four times before the Yellow Jackets took over in the second half of the stanza.

The Lady Jackets face ETBU Tomorrow at 1 P.M. The game will be played at the Coliseum.
