KERRVILLE, Texas – The Howard Payne University women's tennis team fell 9-0 on the road to Schreiner University on Saturday in Kerrville, Texas.
The Lady Jackets dropped straight sets in doubles with
Victoria Ramos and
Lexie Nave losing 8-2 in the number one doubles and
Nina Delafuente and
Zoe Sprayberry losing 8-4 in the two slots. HPU lost spot three by default.
Howard Payne could not steal a set versus Schreiner, losing all six of the singles matches.
Nina Delafuente almost pulled out the number three spot as she won the first set 6-1 but lost the final two sets 4-6 and 2-10.
The Lady Jackets will be back in action on the weekend of March 1
st as they will play three matches over two days. HPU will battle Oklahoma Wesleyan at home on Friday, March 1
st, then will travel to Waco, Texas to take on University of St. Thomas (TX) and McMurry University.
