BROWNWOOD, Texas --The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets took a 1-0 lead into the seventh inning, but could not hold on and fell 3-1 to the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls Friday.

B. Cason (6-10) started and took the loss in the circle for Howard Payne (8-15, 1-10). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up three runs, one earned, on six hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Yellow Jackets got on the scoreboard first, starting in the fourth inning. M. Fuentes came across to score the lone run of the inning for Howard Payne and get them on the board. The Yellow Jackets were unable to hold the lead, as Hardin-Simmons scored three times over the remaining three innings to grab the 3-1 win.
