CLARKSVILLE, Ark. --The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets had a tough showing on Saturday, falling to the Ozarks Eagles by final score of 8-3.

Brendan Read (2-3) got the ball to start for Howard Payne (10-21, 6-15) and took the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Yellow Jackets were trailing 3-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Grant Pfaff came across to score the lone run of the inning for Howard Payne and get them on the board.

The Eagles expanded their lead to 8-1 before the Yellow Jackets offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the eighth. Howard Payne picked up two runs when a single from Tyler Griner scored Tanner Benson and Jackson Earle, which tightened the Eagles lead to 8-3. The Yellow Jackets were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
