DALLAS, Texas - Today the American Southwest Conference announced the 2025 ASC Softball Preseason Watch List and three Lady Jackets were selected. Freshman infielder Madison Garza, senior outfielder Elise Munoz, and senior catcher Makayla Wesley rounded out the list for HPU.

Freshman Madison Garza: Hailing from Poth High School, Garza is looking to bring her success with her to the Yellow Jacket ballclub. She was apart of the 2023 Texas Bombers STX 18U – Arrellanes team which helped hone her skills in guiding her high school team to a Bi-District championship.

Senior Elise Munoz: Appearing in all 39 games for the Lady Jackets last season, starting in 38, Munoz racked up a team-high 13 stolen bases on a 100% success rate. She finished third on the team in batting average with .320 while totaling 31 hits, five doubles, one home run, 11 RBI, and a team-high 29 runs scored. Munoz batted 2-for-3 with a season-high four RBI and three runs scored versus Sul Ross State. She was named ASC Hitter of the Week one time last season season.

Senior Makayla Wesley: Started in all 37 games she appeared in for HPU. Wesley led the team with two home runs on the season while finishing with a .365 batting average. She led the team in hits (41), doubles (8), triples (1), and RBI (23). Wesley recorded a season-high four RBI on 2-for-4 at the plate with one double versus the Ozarks.

The Lady Jackets will kick-off the 2025 season with a doubleheader versus Texas Lutheran University on Saturday, February 8^th with games at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The HPU home opener is set for a doubleheader versus the University of St. Thomas (TX) on Friday, March 28^th with games at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
