Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team fell 0-7 to California Lutheran University Monday morning at the Nabers Tennis Center.

The number one doubles team of Nicolas Gates and Riley Harker lost 6-3, while the Yellow Jackets number two and three double matches fell to go behind 1-0 going into single action versus California Lutheran.

During the singles, Nicholas Gates showed off his skills, but unfortunately fell to California Lutheran's Ethan Sherwood. 

It was a good test for this Yellow Jacket squad under new head coach Mark Hawthorne, who is hapy with the progress that the team is making. 

HPU will face off against Jacksonville College at home in a friendly exhibition this Friday, February, 21st, at 11 AM.
