RICHARDSON, Texas --Senior Grant Pfaff went 1-for-4 with a triple for the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets in a 6-1 loss to the Texas-Dallas Comets on Saturday.

Junior Daylan Bower (1-2) got the ball to start for Howard Payne (6-13) and took the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Yellow Jackets were trailing 2-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Pfaff came across to score the lone run of the inning for Howard Payne and get them on the board. The Yellow Jackets were unable to get any closer, as Texas-Dallas added four runs to their tally on the way to a 6-1 final.

GAME 2 | Howard Payne 11, Texas-Dallas 7
RICHARDSON, Texas --Sophomore Braden Franks and senior Seth Bowman each racked up four hits to help power the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets over the Texas-Dallas Comets 11-7 on Saturday.

Senior Canon De (2-2) got the win for Howard Payne (7-13). The southpaw went five innings, giving up one run on five hits, allowing three walks and striking out four.

In addition to his four hits, Bowman had a double and two RBI to lead the Yellow Jackets. Franks added a walk to his four-hit performance as well. Senior Grant Pfaff also contributed for Howard Payne, putting together zero hits in three trips to the plate while adding two walks and three RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Yellow Jackets got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Junior John Garza came across to score the lone run of the inning for Howard Payne and get them on the board.

The Yellow Jackets then held the Comets scoreless before getting back on the board the very next inning. Franks came across to score the lone run of the inning for Howard Payne, which brought the score to 2-0 in favor of the Yellow Jackets.

Howard Payne kept Texas-Dallas scoreless before building their lead to 7-0 the following inning. The Yellow Jackets bats heated up in the inning, scoring five runs, including a one-run flyout off the bat of senior Landon Prestage.

Howard Payne kept the Comets without a run before their offense got things moving the next inning. The Yellow Jackets scored four runs in the inning, highlighted by a one-run groundout off the bat of Bowman, bringing the score to 11-0 in favor of Howard Payne. Texas-Dallas put seven runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but the Yellow Jackets still coasted to the 11-7 win.
