BROWNWOOD, Texas --J. Rodriguez went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets in an 8-1 loss to the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls on Sunday.
D. Sanchez (0-7) got the ball to start for Howard Payne (6-29, 0-15) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Yellow Jackets were trailing 7-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Howard Payne got on the board thanks to Rodriguez's RBI double with two outs. The Yellow Jackets were unable to get any closer, as Hardin-Simmons added one run to their tally on the way to an 8-1 final.

BROWNWOOD, Texas --Though they had plenty of opportunities, Howard Payne had a hard time cashing them in, leaving 11 Yellow Jackets on base in a 9-3 loss at the hands of the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls on Sunday.
A. Aviles (2-12) started and took the loss in the circle for Howard Payne (6-30, 0-16).
In the batter's box, the Yellow Jackets were paced by A. Blaylock, who went 1-for-2 on the day with two walks and an RBI. M. Wesley put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. M. Saenz also contributed for Howard Payne, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate.
