TACOMA, Washington- The Howard Payne University women's basketball team will open its regular season with a road matchup against the Pacific Lutheran University Lutes at the Olson Gymnasium in Tacoma, Washington on 1:00 P.M. PT (3:00 P.M. CT).
The Lady Jackets will open their regular season with three games in the Pacific Northwest after losing an exhibition game against Abilene Chrisian University by a score of 108-32 on Monday, November 3, at the Moody Coliseum. Senior guard Madison Clay led HPU in scoring with seven points and rebounds with four. Sophomore center Caitlyn Parsons added four points and three rebounds. Sophomore guard Gabriella Barerra led Howard Payne in assists with six in the contest.

SCOUTING REPORT
Pacific Lutheran University (1-0) opened the season with a win over Warner Pacific University (OR) in which the Lutes scored 80 points. PLU shot 50% from the field and 29% from behind the three-point line in the win. Kylie Griffin was the Lutes leading scorer and recorded a double-double in the win. Griffin scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in 36 minutes of action.
Brooke Chisholm scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds in 37 minutes of action, and Kate Wooten led the Lutes in assists with eight.
AROUND THE ASC
East Texas Baptist (2-0), Hardin-Simmons (1-0) and McMurry (1-0) are the top three in the conference. Schreiner (1-1) is in fourth, and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (0-1) is in last.
