Brownwood, Texas- The Howard Payne University women's soccer team (4-4, 0-1) lost its conference opener to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (2-3-3, 1-0-0) Thursday afternoon, by a score of 0-2, at the Citizens National Bank Field.

Brandon Badgeley picking up two yellow cards in the loss against Concordia University (TX) Monday night.
The Lady Jackets struggled to get a footing in the first half. UMHB fired two shots within the opening minute and six shots within the first eight minutes. The Crusaders found the opening goal in the 33
rd minute through Aubrey Pelczar.
At the half, the Lady Jackets were outshot by UMHB, 15-1. Goalkeeper
Landry Combs made 10 saves.
In the second half, the Lady Jackets still couldn't gather any momentum. HPU was outshout by UMHB, 10-2, which included Allie Angel's goal that sealed the win for UMHB in the 76
th minute.
Combs made six saves in the second half.
