IRVING, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's soccer team lost its match against the University of Dallas by a score of 4-1.
The Yellow Jackets conceded early but were able to keep the rest of the first half close and went into halftime down 1-0.
In the second half, HPU conceded its second and third goals when the Yellow Jackets tried to block the shots, but the attempts weren't strong enough to prevent the shots from finding the back of the net.
University of Dallas scored their fourth goal of the game when Edi San Roman was able to put his shot into an unsavable position.
The Yellow Jackets scored a consolation goal when Xzavier Saldana scored his second goal of the season in the 79th minute.
"We have to look at ourselves and find what needs to be fixed," head coach Brandon McGibeny said. "We are a capable group, but as coaches, we need to prepare our team better to compete and have a better mindset for adversity."
The men's soccer team will continue its road trip with a matchup against Penn State Berks on September 10 at 6:00 p.m. Central Time.
