2023: An All-Conference Honorable Mention, Weddel appeared in 86 sets across 23 total games for the Lady Jackets. Weddel led the ASC in aces per set averaging 0.54. She led HPU and ranked second amongst the ASC in total aces with 48. Weddel also finished second in kills for the Lady Jackets with 216 while also recording 17 assists. On the defensive side, Weddel ranked second in digs with a total of 267. She had 19 blocks and was named Academic All-Conference.

HS: A 2023 graduate of The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Texas, Makenzie was a 2022 AVCA Best and Brightest First Team honoree. As a three-year letter winner, she helped lead her team to a third-place 6A State Tournament appearance.

Personal: The daughter of David and Amy Weddel, she has one sibling and is majoring in Allied Health Science leading on to be a Pediatric Nurse.
