Robert Anders

Following his college playing career at Howard Payne, Robert transitioned to the HPU coaching staff in the Fall of 2011.  His duties in the program include working with the outfielders and pitching staff as well as assisting in the programs recruiting efforts. He also leads the Yellow Jacket player development programs.

Since joining the staff, he has helped guide the Jackets to five American Southwest Conference tournament appearances including an ASC Regular Season Championship in 2019. That year the HPU were honored as the Coaching Staff of the Year in the American Southwest Conference.
 
Coach Anders has followed his passion for baseball and his faith during several tours in the off-season with Athletes in Action to the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and New York.

Other coaching positions held in the off season include, pitching coach of New York Collegiate League 2018 Champions Onondaga Flames, pitching coach for Alaska Collegiate League Anchorage Glacier Pilots from 2019-2020 and head coach of the 2021 Alaska Collegiate League Champion Anchorage Glacier Pilots.

Originally from Midlothian, Texas, 
Robert played at Hill Junior College and Cedar Valley Community College prior to attending Howard Payne. Robert transferred to HPU in the Fall of 2009 and completed for the Yellow Jackets during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
 
Robert graduated with a B.A. in Social Science, B.A. in Spanish, minor in Criminal Justice, Government, History and Political Science in December of 2012. He also completed a Masters in Education from Howard Payne in Sport and Wellness Leadership in 2017.
