Biography

2017: Working as a reliever, Wesley struckout 18 in 15 appearances for the Yellow Jackets. With a 1-1 record on the year, he threw 19.2 innings and was named Academic All-Conference for his work in the classroom.

2016: Appeared in seven games on the mound for Howard Payne. Struck out seven batters over 8.2 innings of pitching action and had a 

2015: Wesley saw 2.2 innings of playing time as a relief pitcher for the Jackets during his freshmen season. 

High School: A native of Arizona, Smith graduated from Lake Havasu High School in 2014. Played two years of varsity baseball while also participating in bass fishing. Won "Pursuing Victory with Honor Award" awarded to one senior a year who showed outstanding sportsmanship throughout their four years of athletics. Smith was also tabbed as an academic All-Conference selection two consecutive seasons.

Personal: Wesley is the son of Tim and Tina Smith and he is an only child. Majoring in criminal justice and wants to become a game warden in the future.
