2023: A First Team All-Conference (WR), senior wide receiver Deon Collins appeared in all ten games for HPU totaling 535 receiving yards on 41 receptions. Collins caught six touchdowns along with averaging 13 yards per reception. He recorded a season-high 118 yards on eight receptions and one touchdown versus Texas Lutheran.

2022: Appearing in nine games for the Yellow Jackets, Collins caught 16 passes for 104 yards. He also rushed one time for five yards.

Previous School: Prior to Howard Payne University, Collins played two years at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas where he caught 14 passes for three touchdowns. He then transferred to University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas for one season.
 
HS: A four-year letter and starter, Collins attended Austin Lyndon B. Johnson high school in Austin, Texas. He was named 2x All State, 3x All Central Texas, 3x All District, and 2x Offensive MVP. Collins also participated in track and baseball.
 
Personal: Collins is the son of Deon Collins Sr. and Tasha Meeks and has one sibling. He is a Kinesiology major and aspires to become a collegiate level strength and conditioning coach.
