Biography

2022: Appearing in 25 games for HPU, Cantu registered nine hits, five runs scored, and five RBI. As a fielder, she had four putouts and 11 assists. Cantu was an Academic All-Conference selection as well.

HS: Samantha played three years of varsity softball at Decatur High School in Decatur, Texas. In her time there, she was named First-Team All-District three times, Academic All-District three times, and Defensive Player of the Year in 2021. She was a part of a team that placed third in state in 2019 and won the District three times.

Personal: Samantha is the daughter of Ruben and Sara Cantu and has one sibling. She is majoring in kinesiology.
