2022-23: Appearing in 21 games for the Lady Jackets, Buchanan recorded 41 points, 85 rebounds, and 15 steals. She also received Academic All-Conference.

2021-22: Buchanan started in 20 of the 24 games she played in for the Lady Jackets. She recorded 56 points, 144 rebounds, 14 assists, 16 bocks, and ten steals. Buchanan had a season high of 15 points and three assists versus McMurry University. She also received Academic All-Conference.

HS: Elaina played four years of varsity basketball at Community Christian School in Mineral Wells, Texas. In her time there, she was named first-team all-district and first team-all state. She was also named state defensive MVP. She also played volleyball.

Personal: Elaina is the daughter of Nathan and Kayla Buchanan and has three siblings. She is majoring in Kinesiology and aspires to be a physical therapist or a coach.
