David Foster brought nine years of collegiate recruiting experience to Howard Payne from Tarleton State University where he served as an assistant softball coach and recruiting coordinator. As a NCAA certified recruiter, his experience proves valuable for the Lady Jacket softball and volleyball programs.

So far at HPU, David has coached three different American Southwest Conference players of the year over the past seven seasons. He has also served as the HPU head men's and women's cross country coach. He was a key part of bringing back a program after close to a 20 year absence.
 
Foster has also served as an assistant with the HPU volleyball coach for the past three season and taught classes in the HPU Exercise and Sport Science department.
 
Foster earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees in Exercise and Sport Studies from Tarleton State University. He had taught wellness classes for Tarleton State in the Exercise and Sport Studies Department. 

He is a solid fit for Howard Payne as a Christian university and leads through Christ’s example. Foster is a member of Rocky Point Baptist Church in Stephenville, Texas where he has led a singles Bible study.
