PINEVILLE, LA - The 3rd ranked Howard Payne Lady Jackets proved to be too much for the Louisiana College Lady Wildcats Thursday night as the Lady Jackets posted a 73-49 win.
Overall, Howard Payne limited Louisiana College to just 35.1 percent shooting in the game.
Louisiana College was able to hang tough for a while as Howard Payne only led 24-19 with 2:49 remaining in the first half. But Howard Payne closed out the half with an 8-0 run to take a 32-19 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Lady Jackets slowly extended their lead and eventually took the 24-point conference win.
Howard Payne had four players score in double figures. They were led by Kimberly Hoffman, who tied a career high with 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Meia Daniels, Katy Sarem, and Stacey Blalock scored 15, 14, and 10 respectively.
The Lady Wildcats were led by Tillisha Givens' 14 points. Taylor Henderson and Clarissa Brown scored 11 and 10 points respectively.
Howard Payne improved to 12-0 on the season and 8-0 in ASC action, while LC fell to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in the ASC.
Howard Payne will take on Mississippi College on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
