HPU Drops Two In Abilene

ABILENE, Texas – The Howard Payne Lady Jackets volleyball team played two matches on Saturday versus ASC opponents Hardin-Simmons and McMurry. Howard Payne dropped both matches 0-3. 

Early in the day HPU played at Hardin-Simmons falling 0-3 (14-25, 21-25, 10-25). HPU was led by Amanda Gutierrez with 6 kills. Tamika Heline had 15 digs. 

Howard Payne fell to 7-4 overall and 1-2 in league play. 

In a game that afternoon Howard Payne traveled crosstown to McMurry. The Lady Jackets fell to McMurry 0-3 (22-25, 21-25, 21-25). Sydney Bryant led HPU with 8 kills followed closely by Megan Pick with 7 kills. Bryant and Kristin Hammond had 14 digs each. 

HPU fell to 7-5 overall and 1-3 in ASC action. The Lady Jackets will play next on Tuesday at home versus Texas Lutheran University.
