HPU Falls In Three To HSU

ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jacket volleyball team continued conference play at Hardin-Simmons University Saturday afternoon and fell 0-3 (16-25, 20-25, 21-25) to the Cowgirls.

Tamika Heline led Howard Payne with 10 kills and 11 digs. Amber Cantu-Curry had 16 assists and 13 digs followed by Amy Cardwell with nine digs. Kristin Hammond and Sydney Bryant also had 14 and 11 digs respectively. 

Howard Payne had a .119 hitting pct to Hardin-Simmons' .287 hitting pct. HSU also had eight services aces to HPU's three in the match.

Hardin-Simmons' Kaela Parnell led with 19 kills and Sam Lucien had 23 assists in the match.

HPU falls to 3-8 overall and 1-2 in ASC play while HSU improves to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in ASC action. Howard Payne will play next at Sul Ross State in Alpine on Monday.
